About HRG of Northern Virginia

Richard P. Giannotto, MD

Dr. Giannotto is one of the only surgeons in Virginia exclusively performing hair restoration surgery. He founded the Hair Restoration Group in 1989 and with over 30,000 procedures performed, his philosophy holds true: Every patient is unique, and every hair transplant must be tailored to that individual, making each hair transplant procedure an actual work of art. As a recognized leader in the industry, Dr. Giannotto continues to put the “art” in the art of hair restoration surgery.

Surgical emphasis is on true follicular unit grafting with microscopic dissection and occasionally using a mixed unit grafting when indicated. Follicular unit extraction may also be an option on smaller cases and can be discussed thoroughly at your medical consultation.

In hair restoration, your surgeon is the key to exceptional results. Successful hair restoration depends on age, amount of donor hair available and your goals and expectations. But most importantly, it relies on the artistic abilities of the physician. Creativity and experience mean the difference between results that everyone "sees" and results that just look great. Although it may be considered a minor surgical procedure, Dr. Giannotto's mastery of the technique ensures you a softened, naturalized hairline. We find that approximately 88% of clients are good candidates for this procedure. Find out if it might be right for you.
